I'm soon to be replacing my old beam with a new one (refurb). Firstly do the Needle bearings have to be replaced after 37 years of use? as in are they a part i should replace? Now the big bit..... I'm replacing pretty much everything and trying to salvage the torsion bars/ arms that's about it. New ball joints, track rod end, steering damper + Bush, torsion needle bearings and seals the lot really. Has anyone got a step by step process of building up the new beam with parts? What i mean by this is for example at what point do i pump it with grease that sort of thing? is there anything to look out for when taking off the old beam and disassembling? All Comments helpful! Regards:fool:
As I recall, the needle rollers need to go in to a certain depth. Your Haynes manual tells you how to do it (and the other stuff).
