  1. Fitted a empi twin quiet pack exhaust and manifold pipe blocks off most of heat exchanger pipe neck, was thinking of fitting pair of these to fit inside pipe neck and rivet in place;

    then fit other end onto new metal air hose has anyone else had this problem.?
    Original paper ones are melting onto manifold and trying to get heating on.

    When they say flexible they mean slightly.
    VintageSpeed fit some glass fibre wrap around the exhaust where the fresh passes, but it doesn't really work. I made myself some steel pipes to get past, shaped round the exhaust with a piece of the cardboard each side, but it was quite a tricky job to get round the pipe and have the ends pointing in the right direction in such a short space.

  3. glad to see its not just me, guess you either have a nice rear end or cold front end, lol

    No to the stock exhaust. It doesnt work very well as a means of letting the engine go round.

    I have wrapped fibreglass header wrap (like the Vintage Speed idea) round the top of the header, and carefully bent bits of the silver tube around the header with a gap to the header. The silver tube section goes from the heater inlet to the tinware.
    The foil now cooks slowly going crispy every few thousand miles.

    At the tinware I have one of the stock through tin connectors, used to transition onto 50mm reinforced neoprene tube as I am totally fed up with the silver hose fatigue fracturing off in a couple of hundred miles, and the black paper hose going hairy.

    Medium term I think I will make some tubes out of more of the Ikea bathroom cabinet which I have been cannibalising (the particular Ikea model is now made out of foil covered MDF not stainless steel..) Even to wrap them around the header on their way for more heat exchange.
