So, who’s watching this year? Followed testing and was pleasantly surprised that the first quali wasn’t a complete whitewash! There should be a good bit of racing tomorrow but is suspect there might be a lot of coverage of Merc’s being stuck behind Alonso!
Let's hope there's some closer racing this year. I'm wondering who is going to give way between Max and Fernando - could be fun if the Aston is that competitive
Neither… they crash and let the Ferraris through, who then breakdown after the pit stops and then Russell comes through to lead a Merc 1-2 and then I woke up
They do like putting on a show… I guess they were worried about a repeat of Baku and not entertaining anyone! The race was better this week, however, I think for everyone’s sake we’d be better off handing the RBs the championships now and then create a prize for the second tier championship. The grid is nicely jumbled up behind the RB which would make for a good championship on any other year
Jumbled grid but even more emphasised how far ahead red bull (and max in particular) coming through easily to win from 9th. good to see alonso on the podium again - you can see he’s loving it Lewis made some good progress from his starting position and some racy moves from George. Can’t understand why the Ferraris can’t translate good qualy to a good race result and seemingly struggling to pass a haas.. intro made me cringe - luckily I watched on catch up so I could spin through the LL Cool J-ness
Ha... yes you do! Surprised to see them so far up the order and the Aston's being passed so easily by the mercs. Perhaps them crashing into each other on Saturday masked their true pace It might bode well for some Red Bull / Merc action towards the end of the season if RB stop the development early!
So Honey Badger returns to F1 for toro rosso.. sorry alpha tauri. Shame they're not trusting him with Perez's seat in the big boys red bull car - i'm really surprised given how far he's been behind Max for the last few races. I bet Checo is relieved Shame for Nyck de Vries but its tough at the top and he's not made much impact in 10 races.
Was the british GP exciting.? never saw it mentioned anywhere, Used to get huge coverage, Saw comments about the shabby national anthem..
Max is so far ahead right now its almost pointless discussing /wondering who's going to win. There is some great racing going on though, just for second place on..
I think Nick Debris has cost AT a few quid too many. There's a school of thought that Red Bull have put the Homey Badger in that seat to either give Perez a psychological push, or bed Ricciardo in and then swap him with Perez later in the season.
i think that's entirely possible. i'm a bit surprised tbh how far perez is away from max and how he's struggling to move through the field in a car that is demonstrably better than everything else out there right now. it'd be great also to see how someone like lando could perform in the second red bull.
As an aside, Desert Island Disc on BBC sounds had Totto Wolff on as the guest. Some interesting insights into him and racing.
