I have decided to share the joy and woes we have experienced during the restoration of the above T2 Late Bay, Florence. We have had her for about a year and a half now so I will try and build this post up as quickly as I can to get to the present day. I have been following the “Woody my 72/73 bay window resto project .......an epic tale of rust.......” thread as well as many others on this forum which has been a great knowledge base and inspiration to me during my restoration, so thank you all.

My partner and I thought it would be a good idea to get a camper for our retirement so we could leave all our troubles (and both our kids) behind and travel the world.
I searched the web looking for a suitable (and affordable) vehicle and found one that I thought would fit the bill.

It all started back in December 2011 when we went to have a look at a 1974 Late Bay in Sheffield (why is everything you want so far away). Although cosmetically she left a lot to be desired she appeared to be solid after being welded in all the usual places. There was no rear interior or Cab seats but everything else seemed to be present although not where it should be. The engine was on the cargo floor as was most the glass, a spare door, the boot lid, the original Devon bunks, and several boxes of yet to be identified parts.
I persuaded my partner it wasn’t as bad as it looked and the deal was done. We brought her back in the condition you see above. It was a long journey back for us as we live in the south near Portsmouth and she was up north in Sheffield. I don’t know how many bits fell off during the journey and I guess I never will.

Here are a few more pictures showing her original condition.

Then this is how I had to leave her until I managed to clear some space in the garage.

That's all for my first post, I hope it manages to get to the right forum all present and correct.
