Just renewed the cargo floor and struggling to find the bungs that plug the holes in the pressing . There`s 3 at about 40mm and 4 at about 25mm , didn`t measure `em as i assumed they wouldn`t be so difficult to source Anybody have an idea of who supplies them as none of the usual suspects don`t show them on their websites ?? Cheers ..
That`s the next port of call but i wrongly assumed they`d be tripping over them down Odiham way ... Do they allow fully sighted grommet suppliers to trade or do they have to walk around with their eyes closed and just guess the order
It's part of the Disability Support Scheme. Worth paying a bit more to support them IMO. JK would charge you £4,973 for a grommet.
Try RS or Farnell should do blind grommets. Or eBay e.g. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/121991457946 Or a use a high tech composite laminate (Isopon P38 and paint ...)
Thanks Mike , that reminded me i also need a few mahoosive electrical grommets to keep the loom from rubbing where it goes through the chassis , another crap repair i paid for Why would you fit a new 2 part deformation panel and not fit a grommet to stop the loom rubbing ?? There`s some real tools out there - take a bow , John at Beetle Peeple in Morley . Not the only crap work of his i`ve found since having the luxury of somewhere to have a proper look . Be careful out there ....
But they are bits of quite hard plastic cunningly shaped to look like rubber grommets . I have a box of these and with rubber grommets you can squeeze one into a slightly too small hole. Not so the plastic ones.
Okay and surely looking at that, grommets would be the last thing you'd need to be bothered about at present.
Woo hoo. Now you get to think ‘interior’.... off to B&Q for some cupboards to adapt, or going bespoke? Looking forward to seeing it all at TE (or Volksworld? Do we have a thread for that yet? I really wanna go this year)
