  1. ...before starting the engine , both battery & oil lights go off when engine running, but with the key in the ignition turned before starter kicks in , both flash / flicker ? Anyone had the same ?

  2. Both lights should go off when engine is running.!!!

The key should be in the ignition for it to run..!

Post a quick vid and a link. Might be easier to understand what is wrong.

  3. Cheers dave , will do tomorrow , lights go off when running , it's just beforehand , keys in and turned before starter motor kicks in ,and both lights flicker / flash , weird .

  4. Defo odd. First point is check wiring in dash to make sure no shorts. Vid would be good. There are a few guys on here that are spot on with electrics here.

Hopefully not to serious. Any fuses popping..

  5. Mine does sort of the same, they ever so slightly pulse

  8. I see the oil light flickering. Matty might be spot on. I will have a read in the Bentley manual and see if there is anything else. Light should be static.

Could try swapping bulb and holder with another. Just a quick thought

Oil pressure sensor maybe and is cheap fix. But that is a guess.

  9. If it starts fine, idles fine and drives fine I'd leave it as is. :)

  10. Never noticed on my bay but on my daily all the lights on the dash go off when turning the starter over, if I go slow with the key I can make the lights flicker like yours.

  11. Ya, I'm thinking the ground wire or loose live wire up under the dash. that would not be a problem with my van, I'd drive it like that. But if you took the time to check the connections now my save you later.

Bad bulb that's about to blow

Replace the bulb and clean up the contats as your there
Twist the bulb holder then pull out the bulb from the black holder
    Halfords will do the bulbs

Or just leave it should t do any harm

  13. The probs I had with my clock lamps were solved by fitting new bulbs and holders and also new cable ends
