We finally got some time this week on top of fitting the Propex and Hook up to fit the bunks We have really used the holidays to get a lot of bits on the bus done. Away all tidy The little man up there Eleanor up there One thing we found is that the pop top sometimes drops down which isn't a good thing and its just held in with screws that you tighten to keep it in place when it's up (lock it in place). Can anyone post a pic of there locking mechanism?
The poptop is finely balanced on its springs - it looks like you have the extra weight of blankets for insulation and curtains tied to it. Not surprising it falls down. But I like the slotted stick idea. Also if the bunk fabric is original it may be a bit fragile by now , and be ready to let go at any instant, especially when small knees get heavier and sharper. The fabric on ours fell apart in my hands as I tried to remove it , especially where it was fixed to the roof.
Do you tie the children onto the bunks? If we'd had something like that the eldest unmarried daughter would have landed on us every hour or so. Wriggled around & constantly fell out of bed. Don't know what she's like these days but I hope she isn't as bad.
