Another great film . Didn’t it come out after Pulp Fiction so it was difficult to live up to that one? Nonetheless, superb film.
It did seem to get over shadowed by pulp fiction, but it was another great Tarantino film. And hilarious Bay window action to boot.
No-one's mentioned Detectorists. The German guy who turns up in a red late bay Westy and turns out to be looking for Nazi gold...
This Pickup was in The Snapper with Colm Meaney driving it. I think there was a late bay in Blow with Jhonny Depp as well, I remember noting that it should have been an prototype bay for the date it was supposed to be.
They used my bus in the Elton John film Rocket Man. Just after they go to the Trubador they go to a house party. And for a couple of seconds you see it in the driveway of the house with some other motors. Blink and you’ll miss it!
No proof of this but... In the early 80s I had an old grey panel van called Fifty Quid Sid - yes that's what he cost me. I had him for about a year as my work van and never spent a cent on him. I sold him to my brother for £100 and that was the last I saw of him. He only lasted about 3 weeks before blowing up apparently. I only discovered what he was bought for very recently - I don't talk to that brother very much. My brother was vaguely in the music business and drove Sid around Marble Arch with a camera man sticking out of the tailgate, filming Madonna in her latest video - "Holiday" I think. Never seen it, no idea if it made it to final cut but I'd like to think it's true.
Yes I don’t like to talk about it.....I used to do a lot of work for charity with Vivikins Leah, Larry Olivier, Lizzy Taylor.......
That van is in the Petersen Automotive Museum, apparently parked next to the original Christine Plymouth Fury.
If you watch old episodes of the Sweeney and The Professionals, there are usually at least two or three in each episode.
If I remember there was a westfalia in Minder on Arthur Daley’s car lot missing the rear roof rack, Ironically it was a reasonable price by today’s price’s I think about £950
