Got in laws and bro in laws family over on Christmas day. Not planning on cancelling anything at this stage.
Supposed to be going to my neices Christmas Day evening.... she's a teachers assistant... also there will be a Headteacher, my sister who works in a busy office and my plumber ( sorry, heating engineer) brother in law. Talk about a set of super-spreaders .... taking a lateral flow and hoping...... ..... for a positive result to get out of it @
Cancelled a dinner dance we were going to tomorrow because I’m bringing my parents up here for a few days, so the dance is a risk too far. My brother is flying over from Ireland Xmas eve hopefully. They are here for three days but have to get a PCR before they can fly back.
Had thoughts of going to my cousin on the 25th, but as her husband is currently 'locked in the bedroom upstairs' (her words, not mine!) with COVID, and he's not allowed to be set free until Christmas Day, that's off for sure. But as of right at this moment, I've not cancelled anything else... Still plan to see friends on Christmas Eve (only 4 of us), and will be working the last film at the cinema later that day. But who knows, a lot can change in a few days.
We was tier 4 last Xmas day which meant no Xmas outside of our household. So anything this year is a bonus. TBH we’ve been in the pandemic since March 2019 so I’ve had no massive desire to be in big groups indoors anyway.
I'm not cancelling anything. Sod that.... * * I'll still be having a mince pie or 10, I wasn't doing anything communal anyway. TBH could peeps not see this coming for the last few months? The determination people have to carry on as near normal as possible at the slightest loosening of the reigns just might, just might be dragging this thing out forever. Better safe than sorry, there are 365 other days in the year to have a family get together. ** ** Bah humbug.
March 2020 but 2019 model year. The clue is in name Covid-19, but that was late 2019, in China, a long way away and didn’t really matter so nobody did anything about it until 2020.
The World Health Organization declared the outbreak a 'Public Health Emergency of International Concern' on 30 January 2020, and a pandemic on 11 March 2020. It was already too late.
In the world we live in, by the time we recognise an infectious desease problem, it is almost too late. The number surprised me, but the most international visitors to the UK in one year was 41.1 million in 2017 and we still had 11.1m in 2020.
Two weeks ago we were at The Wurzels concert in Manchester ,there were 4000 people present and the news today is very sad ,the drummer John Morgan has passed on after contracting covid while in Manchester.
Blimey. That was quick. How can he have gone from infection to death in two weeks. Surely he must have contacted it earlier than the concert. Still very sad though
Yes it's sad of course but it's a high risk lifestyle these days. IIRC you posted a picture where I could not see a single mask wearing punter. Mental, really. And here we go rocketing towards another lockdown. Never mind vaccination passports, we should have IQ passports, or a common sense passport or something.
