I've been told off for leaving it a day - the steel goes rusty and they have to scrape off the "rust rings". That can smart for a day or two.

  2. Jeez Zed sort it out before your eye goes all rusty :(

  8. I am now sat giggling to myself at rusty ring jokes

Been there with the metal in the eye and rust removal. I had to ask them to close the door to the hospital corridor as I kept watching people walk past as she stuck the end of a scalpel into my eyeball.
I felt lucky as the next guy was possibly going blind due to shingles.:(

Had this a few times.....snap, crackle and pop!

And as expected have a had metal scraped out my eye a few times, it's firmly my belief that they make you wait longer at hospital when it's self inflicted and preventable!

Also been there, not working on the bus fortunately as I allegedly am getting smarter as I'm getting older and wear as much protection as I can, including the full face mask but usually if I got a bit to do, but sometimes I catch myself 'just' trimming this with a grinder with me reading glasses on and then call me self a *****. So,, the last time I was down the eye hostipal with a lorry load of gravel in me eye, a few years back , I had to get the lady customer to drive me down to the eye place in Bristol, because when I get something in my eye I'm a real whimp and my other eye won't open either like they work in tandem or something. So I'm in the eye place and almost blind and me good eye flicking open every now and then and the nurse tells me it's gonna be at least an hour because of the que of dickheads with things in their eyes. Then she asks me would I like some antiseptic/anesthetic type stuff in my eye , to which I agreed because it does drive you bonkers. So she puts these drops in my eye and tells me to hold my head back and to count to five hundred before I drop my head again. The drops really helped and numbed everything they touched and it felt like part of my face had dissolved. Two hours later they come and get me and take me to a chair to start looking in my eye and digging and prodding the crap out. As they put my face into this frame type contraption I happen to glance in the mirror and I can see that the drops they put in were a lovely shade of green. I know this because in the mirror I can see where the drops have left a lovely snotty trail in beautiful green from one of my nostrils down around my lips all down my chin and along my neck so I'm guessing with hindsight that these drops were numbing as they traveled all down my face. So sat there for two hours smiling at the nurses etc with a snot trail all down my face.

Ozziedog,,,,,,, some days just get better and betterer ;)

  15. Had the same drops put in and the relief was out of this world ,only lasted about a hour but best hour I have had for ages.I even asked if I could take some home with me for future pain but was told in no uncertain terms this was not allowed and I would just have to cope with pain ( how sadistic can you get ).

All true, but I didn't ask, but seems like a reasonable request to me, wish I'd thought of it. Maybe I was on my best behaviour because I was with a lady customer.

    Ozziedog,,,,,maybe?:)

I got some anaesthetic drops to take home, probably overdid it but my eyelids swelled up so much I couldn't open it. Possibly this is why I had to beg for the drops.
