Fanbelt

  1. Just received two Fanbelts from GSF for my 75 bay and they've both come with no teeth! I got one of these before from them, whats going on? Is this for another model of Type 1 engine. I'm a bit annoyed  because I broke down the other day without a spare (because of the last delivery). Whats going on, is this an alternative or what!! ???

they're not teeth, they are cutouts to allow belts to go round tighter pulleys easier, non notched belts are original spec due to the load the cooling fan puts on the friction area of the belt. less likely to slip

  3. Crap, does that mean the spare I had but didn't carry when I had my breakdown was the right type after all?
Is there a preference to use, I've only seen the cutout/tooth version before.

  4. I'd try to use non-toothed where possible, I carry a toothed as spare, but only for ease of putting on a rush

  5. just changed mine from a toothed one to a solid one last week, much better :)
