  1. Any you guys know if Dellorto carbs were ever "copied" ? i have read elsewhere that some "high end " carbs were, and, having twin dells fitted by p/o, it occurs to me they may not be the real deal? as my 1st sight of such carbs was when i popped the hatch, i have no way of determining if they are gen. Dells, or indead ,whether copy Dells exist? any advice ,appreciated >p.s. no bunfight sought ! i am NOT saying Dells are better than any other!(thought they do look fecking ace!)

  2. most carbs are /were copied or made in several countries , the empi hpmx are copies of webbers i think

  3. Why do you think they're copies?

Dels, as I recall (too late to nip out to the garage) have the funny-shaped Del logo cast into the side, with Made In Italy under it. It's likely they've come off an old Alfa if they're used, so you should be able to see the original plates for the choke mechanism. Never heard of Dels being cloned - where would the money be in that, given the amount of work involved?

I'd think things like the EMPIs were made under license from Weber. They've been available for years.

  4. Nooo I read this as cake carbs.
