  1. It seems someone has put in a greiviance to hr about my facebook page....
So tonight i have remove facebook...
is it worth the hassle, going to work is bad enough...
hopefully we can move on, or i may be looking for another job next week.

  2. What has Facebook got to do with work? Assuming you didn't put anything involving workmates: even then I'd think it's iffy.

  3. was it all the swass stickers on there that did it >:D
    sorry joke
what was so bad about your fb page ?

what has your personal life (using facebook) got to do with your employer unless you go sharing information on what they do, generally slagging them off or misusing it at work?

Have a word with Citizens Advice on this one, I doubt hr have much grounds to go on

  8. Ooh I've been there! An ex colleague was upset about me moaning on Facebook about something she'd done even though it was just another colleague asking me about my day and me saying "someone did this and someone did that" My manager spoke to me about it and said that as it was out of work they couldn't do anything about it. I deleted all of my colleagues from my Facebook and haven't had any on there since

  11. I'd suggest that slagging off the company you work for or named colleagues on Facebook - if this is indeed what happened - isn't too clever. The whole world can see it.

If it was one of my reports, I'd tell them to stop it.

if you have removed anything they could get shirty about - they cannot say anything now that its gone...I hope you get sorted out in your favour!

  17. It's a dodgy thing fb when it comes to work, we had to sign a thing saying we wouldn't post about work! Especially silly when you consider I don't have an office job ::)

  18. Not so funnything 5 bikes got stolen out of the bike shed. i was going to go on mine...
i wonder if asomeone is going to say it was me.. lol

  19. good reason not to be on fb - OR lock down the privacy on your page

  20. Regards to adding friends on Facebook. I would strongly urge most people not to add people to your friends list that you only know through work. Ask yourself would I have become friends with them if I had not first met them at work.
If the answer is in the negative then remove them or don't add them to your Facebook friends list.

Alternatively you can go into your settings and change your personal settings specifically to your friends that work with. This means that they can still be on your friends list but they will not see any of your posts all status updates. Also another good thing to do is make your Facebook page totally private to your selected friends and not public and future or current employees Etc.

Another thing that employees can do is take grievance against you in regards to you posting during the day whilst at work. All posts and status updates are time logged on your time wall and therefore show you not doing your work at the time of posting .

In short, do not mix your working life with your private.

I have made this mistake before. My last employee manager was at TLB on the farm. (He was one of the bands) Few weeks later he made me redundant. It was not a nice experience at all :)
