Saw this beauty in France. Had a quick chat with the German guy who owned. He was a fan of British vehicles and had got an old Land Rover too. Said he’d had a Bedford camper that he lived but it fell to bits! That would be quality British engineering! apparently although lhd this one made in Britain I want one
The engine in that ....I presume is an Opel vehicle with an Opel engine in it ,probably a opel 2.3 diesel engine . Which was also put in the Bedford CF campers .
it was at an aire Nr Millau. Just a loo no cafe etc. It’s where we discovered the Fiat shock absorber had gone and covered the wheel arch etc in oil!
Going back to that Opel camper MC ...just noticed in the pic of it ...it has interestingly got a Bedford CF front panel section the one that goes between the two lights . The early ones that were up to W plate .
It's a Bedford blitz ..so it say's on the back ...possibly a Bedford chassis frame with Hymer coach work .....it has a bedford CF front panel too .
yes, it was fab but I was a bit nervous as we had just noticed the shock absorber was leaking and I didn’t want to swerve off the bridge!!
Probably because that's the only bit (other than having four wheels, not two), that makes it look remotely like a "vehicle" not a caravan .... It's given me a headache
If only I’d have spotted him on the way South I could have swung by to look at this one https://www.milanuncios.com/venta-de-coches-clasicos/bedford-blitz-opel-hymer-185725902.htm
