  3. Found these two pics, potentially will need a guard to protect from exhaust.

Was just trying to work out if i need left or right but think the Left will do the job.

I'd do what it takes to mount it upright, it saves a lot of mess changing the filters. You can get 90 deg oil fittings.

Because my filter bracket has a Mocal thermostat/pancake adapter with hoses running forward, I use 90 degree elbows with the oil coming in from behind the filter.
This shows it as it is today, inside the "rise" on the left hand side of the engine bay, its screwed to the chassis rail. I now use Mann W719/5 filters off a Golf as they are cheaper than FRAM HP1.
I have another £120 worth of decent oil hose to loop forward to the oil cooler.

This was just after installation when I fitted a plate under it which was pointless.

Hoses running forward from the pancake adapter to the cooler in a scoop at the rear of the centre belly pan.

If you have a local hydraulics supplier (more common than you'd think), get up your hoses with fittings that can be swaged on from them, go and make your hoses including marking angles for fittings that need that, take them back to the hydraulics place and get them swaged on.

  7. ^this. Let it dangle down as a free oil cooler.

  8. I used the blue Aeroquip hose to connect everything up. Tough as old boots and can just be cable-tied to the backbar. I'll post a pic when I get back home.

  10. This ^^^
@Zed fitted mine and used his local agricultural engineers to make the pipes .
Spot on with fittings that actually screw into the housing and engine connections - not a jubilee clip in sight

  11. It's lasted very well. The blue Aeroquip is pricey, but you don't need much of it and it's bloody indestructible. Dangling filter gives you a cheap additional oil cooler ;)

It's a good example of what you get when you think ahead - practical and tidy.
Laurie liked a joke - I think he thought I should have done it myself so he schemed up an installation that would be easy for him to fit (no lying under the bus) and annoy me (probably he thought for my own good). I moved it when I rebuilt the engine to very much how yours is.

Hi @snotty are you just running the oil filter to and from the engine or have you a oil cooler as well?

  18. One in one out would suggest no oil cooler, this is what I will be installing it that helps
