Ever wanted to kill a clip???

  1. The clip that holds the heater cables to the lever mechanism has seriously got to watch its back. I tried fitting the clip for about two hours yesterday and had no luck at all. Tried it upside down (me that is) from the side, from the other side. With the dog on my head and do you think I could get that bloody clip on. Not a chance, not on your nelly. I ended up having a jim Carey like spacko attack and gave up. Like I said in the title. Ever wanted the kill a clip???

  2. I might have went through this dude....dunno if it's the same problem. the weird shaped bit of metal that clamps the cables so the outers don't move when you pull a heater lever ?

  3. Yeah that's the one. I've got it on before. Just took it off to fix the mixer cable. Doing my head in. My bro is gonna come over tomorrow and have a go before I melt the Illegitimate child thing down

  4. I had a problem fitting mine as I had two different heater cables, after many hours of frustration I did what VW never thought of.....cable ties, works a treat now and when these cables give up the ghost i'll be everso careful what cables I buy.

  5. yeah, got that prob ! clip now lives in ashtray, heater flaps are "wired" in open position , if i want any available heat i switch on the snell fan , if not it stays off, thou in this climate mostly on> thou running a dynamo, i have to switch off as much as poss. when sitting at traffic lights/junctions,then back on as traffic moves off.

  6. I need to do this but wont bother now :(

  7. Well I ditched the bloody clip and got some big cable ties. Works a treat
