Engine upgrade

Hello, I currently have an 1800 type 4 motor in my bus. I have aquired a 2ltr cj motor. Will i need to upgrade to a 6 rib gearbox or will mine take it?? I know it'll need a bigger clutch. it'll be running stock carbs.
Thought's appreciated.

 

If you had a 1800 engine, you will also have a 5 rib gearbox? If yes you're good to go. 8)

Unless there's something tragically wrong with the 1800, you won't see a massive (3HP) power improvement but it will have more grunt at lower revs compared to the 1800.

 

its more to have a back up motor and the price was right.
