I was out in the van last weekend, 74' bay 1600cc, 2 days driving around fine covered around 40 miles total stopping for the night in different locations. After the last night started heading home and was stalling when slowing at traffic lights, junctions etc, only just made it back. Now the engine will not start, or if it does only for a few seconds and nothing happens when I press the accelerator engine does not speed up at all when I press it and then cuts out. Where do I start? Any help much appreciated
At the beginning compression fuel spark I will assume you have compression Do you have the other 2? Blocked fuel filter? Fuel pump not working? Valves set correctly? Static time correct?
Points gap ? Can cause massive timing shift. Timing ? Valve gaps ? Compression ? Fuel feeding .. If this was the first trip out expect crud in carburettor if you dont have a fuel filter or a blocked fuel filter. Basically do a service.
