My mates splitty engine caught fire last night, bus is ok and he is too but the engine is fooked. He is after a replacement pretty sharpish, any offers?
I will shortly have a top condition Flat four 2 litre with all ancillaries, most of which are brand new (I guess this is what they call a turn-key job), plus brand new exhaust plus twin Solex carbs recently completely refurbed with a guarantee, for sale. There's nothing wrong with the actual engine. It can be heard running as sweet as a nut and has only come out of the bus in readyness to replace it with a Scooby 2.5 My brother was going to pay me £800 for the lot and fit it in his Splitty. But he's broke and decided to garage the bus for a year or so. I haven't got a clue what it's worth - my brother set the price.
