I've just fitted a new engine and put some used weber idf 40's on it, no idea what they came off, I cant get booked into the rolling road tuner till next wedensday, Would you run it while the carbs are not tuned right or not, I want to get some miles on it before i go but my mate says it could damage the engine

  2. how bad is it running?

  3. what about a mobile engine tuner, to put you on till you get to Clives?

I'm new to the bus forum and have only just bought a bus myself.
But ive built many a bike engine over the time and carbs are something I might
    Be able to help with.

Depending on if you have a standard exhaust system on the your bus will
Make a difference on how your carbs show be turned. The best advice I can give you
Is get a carb balancer. They are about £25 off eBay and are a very handy tool to have in your kit.

With this you should be able to tune your carbs in and get them running sweetly enough.
As far as I'm aware the engine can be damaged if to much fuel is running in to the chamber and the exhaust can not get rid of the gasses fast enough.

    Hope that helps
