will be taking the engine out for a good clean and service shortly. Oil will be changed anyway but whats best: drain oil before removing or leave in and drain whilst on the stand? or doesn't matter?
I would say before the engine comes out. Give it a run heat the oil up so it becomes more thinner it will drain more easy. Pluss I learnt the hard way engine on the stand rocker covers off, tilt engine, oil on the floor.
Take the oil out before you get the engine out of the car. It'll be lighter without oil in it, and therefore easier to handle.
