Engine bay seal

  1. I have just bought a new engine bay seal and I'm after some help with fitting it,
Will the seal stay on on its own or will I need some sort of glue to put it on there with?
    Cheers

  2. on its own provided your tinware's in place...don't ask which way the shiny side goes....

  3. Sorry it's the engine bay lid seal not the engine bay seal should have made it more clear

  4. Ah! I see...no...you shouldn't need any glue....it sort of 'squashes' into place

It is supposed to sit in the lip of the rebate. Use a scraper to seat it under the groove and you should not have to use glue.

  9. Only drive with the lid shut, then the seal wont fall out ;)

  10. Make sure you have the right seal. Don't get the one from JK. It's to hard and not the correct profile. I found out the hard way and ended up buying another one. Have a look on Ratwell.com, section 26.
