Electric Fuel Pump Location

Discussion in 'Mech Tech' started by slimesub5, Apr 29, 2020.

  1. I have an electric fuel pump fitted by PO right above the battery! Obviously not a good location.
I want to relocate it, I was first thinking on the circular Paint Tin Lid away from the battery around the corner, but this still means lots of hose connections in the engine bay.
I’ve seen the Limebug gearbox mount that look interesting. Has anybody fitted one of these? I like the idea of running a hard pipe from pump to pressure regulator too, and maybe a filter.
Downside is if the pump fails it’s a difficult place to access. Does the pump mount below the starter motor?
I have my fuel pipe from the tank running above the starter at the mo, I want to reroute this too.

You solutions and thoughts welcome....... thanks

Mine was very similar to your set up, I've gone for pump on offside chassis rail.
Reduced pipework by a considerable amount and no fuel pipes near electrics ( although I would think risk is low anyway. )
