Eccentric bushes camber nuts???

  1. Hello gang,
I have been rebuilding my front beam today, and I got to the part where I started to fit my lovley new fitted ball joints to the streering knuckle. And surprise the top ball joint seams way too small. So I think, have I had the wrong ball joints fitted??? apparently you require an eccentric bush or camber nut, does anyone know if the oringinal V dubb had them? Im guessing yes as they are mentioned in the manual, but the man that pressed my new ball joints as never returned them with the rest of my kit. Any info anyone??

yes you do need a camber nut (one on each side) - they are probably rusted onto something somewhere!!

If you need new ones, the usual suppliers sell them!

Your new balljoints will be fine mate, dont worry, all you are missing are the camber nuts

  3. Cheers Mark, Simon never returned them when the parts came back from the powder coaters. Got to say though, I'm loving rebuilding my bus on my own, knowing that I have rebiult it from scratch is giving me a big kick. That said I am sure there will be tears before bed time, if you know what I mean. ;D

I sure do mate, had plenty of them with both of ours & same as you, more to come!!

I bet Simon didnt get them back from powdercoaters hence you not getting them, dont think they are expensive (I have not got any spares of these) though

  5. Already sorted mate, vw heritage have some, but can you believe £12 each. I have some other bits to order anyway, so I will place me shopping list with them tomorrow. Looks like you had a good time at the BBQ.
