A nice quiet propex with the added inconvenience of changing gas bottles now and then or the noisy old eberspacher with the built in convenience of fuel from your petrol tank ? Propex for me
where would you stick your eberspacher ? Do thay fit outside, under the van , or do thay have to be fitted inside.
After last weekend camping im thinking of buying one. As for locating it, i was thinking of removing the westy cool box thingy and sticking it in there.
I'd say webasto if money is no option, the new ones are quieter than a propex and you don't have to change the gas. And there nice and small. Scott. ;D
Riviera heater for me It takes no room up in the bus is completely silent in operation and doesent require a 12 volt source to run
Eber in the engine compartment for me. But only because I had one. If I was buying it'd be a propex because they're cheaper.
Its a radiator moley dude The four burners heat up the alloy tube sections which radiate the heat into the bus and the gasses vent out of the flu underneath the bus Turn the gas on and press the piezo ignitor Check you have a flame through a little glass window then adjust the valve to the temperature you want and just leave it Ive seen a fair amount of propex and erber users go cold because the leisure batterys gone flat over a few days camping in the same spot but no such problem with the riviera and no noise either
does the lack of free wall space stop anyone using caravan heaters? or is there another factor? it's true that once the battery dies it's game over in propex land but as para's heater proves, other options are out there.
Only problem I can see with this though is the walking on fire feeling you might get when getting up for a pee, or do you have it covered? Sound's like a great idea as i have now sold my propex, although that is the only problem i can see as it would probably get pretty hot?
Oh, the petrol one I heard was quiter than a propex! So that means they must all be noisey or you have a mouse stuck in yours.
My Eber's not as loud as I thought it was going to be now all the furniture's in, but you do notice the quiet when it switches itself off. Noise or cold? I'll settle for the welcoming roar.
