I really have a strange urge to bid on loads of 99p auction items with cheap postage on ebay and relist everything I win - do you think it would be worth it or would it just be silly - which is not like me at all!

    seriously- did it work?

  4. Surely not ???

  5. good idea ,most dont sell due to poor listing key words

  6. Yeah, providing you buy the right stuff. I would bid on 50-60 items a night and only win 1 or 2 but the ones I did win 'slipped through the net' so to speak. So you'd end up with stuff that you can sell on for £10 or more which is a good profit margin if you ask me!

  7. I have often thought that if I did not have a job, I would ebay for a living. Go to carboot sales and jumble sale. Buy it dirty cheap and sell it on. There was a chap in america that would sell books for $1 and make $1.50 on the postage. I do believe he is now a millionaire

  9. There was a guy in the papers not too long ago who started off selling something stupid like a sandwich and ended up with a mansion!....well, a house.
Sorry, not a sandwich, a paper clip!

  10. I recently won a good condition tow bar for 99p, can't remember how I found it but clearly the listing wasn't accurate enough.

Listing title was "VW Volkswagen Baywindow Towbar 73-79" it contained no mentioned of camper or type 2 and by linking baywindow and towbar together they missed out :D

I won both my genuine German wheel arches for less than a fiver when I was doing my resto, I met the chap on the services so no pp - I felt really sorry for him as the listing was poor and offered him more money- to be fair he wouldn't accept it and stuck to the spirit of ebay!

  12. Haha I felt the same and gave the tow bar guy a fiver, he accepted but has now not left any positive feedback !! I will think twice about doing that again:mad:.

  13. Must admit years ago I used to go round the car boots buying up all the faulty & broken mobile phones, mainly nokia's, I would deliver my Sunday mornings purchases to my mate he would fix em which most of the time they just needed the software re-flashing and I would then list & sell em on ebay..

I was searching the net for more idea's how to get hold of old faulty or unwanted mobiles and found an american company advertising mobile phone recycling, we had a very simple website designed and launched it, after six months we didn't have to go car boot as bags full of mobiles were dropping through my letterbox daily. We had a good 6 months of this as no one else in the UK was doing it but it wasn't long before the big boys were onto the idea and killed us dead in the water with all their tv & media advertising.

We were priced out of the market because we were selling on ebay but they soon upped their prices which were more than what I could get for the phones when I sold them so we knew they must have been shipping them abroad and getting much more for the phones and with no financial backing we were done!

We ended up selling the web domain for more than the £2.99 I paid for it and moved on, the website which was http://www.cash4phones.co.uk/ has changed but is still going and is owned by the cash4gold people

On the other hand - I won a dab radio on tuesday - met the seller on a services - great,Only it was not dab and now I either text her and arrange a meet again or relist it - Its ok other than no dab so should sell ok - bit miffed with the lie but pleased with the way she just upped and met me no issue, I am sure she was convinced it was DAB and had the best intentions. Too much hassle and too cheap to do the journey again!

  15. When I got my windscreen for £9 I gave the bloke 15 as I was the only bidder and felt a bit guilty. The one I puchased from Liverpool Campervans (when they were in business) cost me £30 and has massive scratches on it from a knackered wiper and some welding splatter!
