while tatting with van on my dinner hour (yes its at work) i've dropped the screw that holds the condenser into the tin, it's gone down the little groove in this picture, did manage to get magnetic screwdriver on it but it fell off again ( i'm crap on them crane things in arcades ) anyway will it do any harm and if not what size do i need to replace it?
at aguess 4mm or 5 mm, dont thinks its a 6mm. keep fishing when you got time. you should of pulled the dizzy out onced you made a not of position, its easier m8. can you see it, i cant from pics... it aint gone on the floor. i often find it gone why im not looking...
it isn't on the floor, that's why i was asking where that groove goes too.....the 2nd pic even shows the scratches where i got the screwdriver in the hole.
it's not actually tinware it's an alloy part the dizzy mounts to it has actually gone down that groove, my mistake for putting "tinware" 'cos i didn't know what to call it.
I'd say if you get another screw in there you are good to go. The screw would not hit anything that could -crew up the motor and after a while it'll throw itself out or rest under the barrels on the heat shield.

better than marking the distributor, take it out complete with the clamp. it comes out easier this way anyway.

thinky you is getting confuzzeled with me having to take the rockers off and the push rods, that's underneath anyway, this screw fell up top.
Leave it and put another screw in as if you take your dissy out I'm betting you will drop the screw down the hole it came from! Thats my disaster management plan anyway. I remember taking the tinware of my 2 litre for the first time to finding several tinware screws and two spark plugs!!!!!
