I have window winder handles with plenty of meat left on the teeth but the mechanisms in the doors have failed and i need to replace them. can anyone help as the passenger window is slightly down at the moment!
In the short term, from the security point of view and to keep the elements out, you can remove the trim panel and chock up the window with a couple of pieces of batten, tight off the bottom off the inside of the door.
They sell them at JK about £28 if I remember. I have a new one in the garage as a spare just in case. I got it as mine were Failing. But I managed to refurb them.
Just looked and my passenger door mechanism has a crack in the sleeve with the teeth in, so the handle is unable to get grip of it, what are jk ones like or is it best to go orig? Thanks, any luck finding any guys?
As with most parts original is best. However you would need to make sure that a used one has been removed carefully from the door, without being twisted/bent, otherwise the free movement of the worm cable will be compromised.
