Door tensioner 79 Panel

Discussion in 'Mech Tech' started by varrenwisher, Oct 31, 2018.

  1. Hi can anyone tell me the name of this as I'm having a little trouble getting the lock on sliding door to close? Is the thread (5.5mm?) and broken off as I seem to be 10mm short with the order connecting rod.
As always many thanks and any advise on 79 sliding door mech and tweaking would be greatly appreciated.

There should be a tapped hex barrel connector .. a 20 mm tall M3 tapped hex circuit board standoff that you wind onto the long threaded side until the connector is about touching the short threaded bit when you bring them together. Then you wind it on to the short threaded bit off the longer threaded bit.
You can adjust the tension by winding it off the short bit and then going a few turns extra, pull the connector to touching the short threaded end and wind it back on. And in this way you get the catch to lock and open properly at the rear of the slider.

Ideally there is a lock nut on the long threaded bit you can do up to lock the connector in pkace
