last year i didn't sorn but i took it off the road from dec 24 to march 31, so i lost 3 months tax, when the tax ran out on may 31 i put 6 months on it so it runs out tomorrow, i'll re tax it end of march unless i get flush in the meantime.... as for your mot you can take it for a pre arranged mot without tax as you need mot to tax it so it's fine.

  3. 3 months tax is worth claiming back, I would sorn and then retax when needed - as Ricky states, take it for MOT without TAX and then tax it once completed....

3 months tax refund will be about £60?

Not normally we use it all year but we have this year as it ran out this month and my works van has faild the mot big style and then Gills car faild so no money for tax

Will try and make the most of it and get a few jobs done on it

  6. Mines tax freeeeeeeeeeee. :p

  7. yes

mine needs the time off to get fixed

  8. I normally SORN mine but always end up getting it out to collect the Christmas tree so this I decided to go for the full 12 months this year. I haven't used it since September :(

  9. SORN'd mine for the first time last year,
Done it again at the end of October.
Makes it a comparatively cheap vehicle - just running for the 6 months.
re. MOT - I booked it in by number plate, not just VW van - I don't need some jobsworth copper getting arsey with me.

  10. I will be SORNing mine - when I get it back!

  11. Not this year. Just got her on the road!
