Dissy oil seal on type 4

  1. chasing oil leaks on mine. Never swapped this. If they are goosed do they leak much. Got quite a bit of oil in that area but cant see where from! Will look at oil pressure switch, had issue with that before. Thoughts. Doesnt look like it would leak much from dissy seal tbh but who knows?

  2. The seal is easy to change, they do not usually leak the oil pressure switch is the most common cause.

  3. Mine had no seal in there at all, it certainly leaked! As Robert says, it is easy to change - just remove the 13mm nut, leaving the clamp on the distributor makes it easier.

Note the position of the rotor arm for when you put it back in ;)

  4. i had a bad oil leak finally tracked it down to the distributer, was running down the engine and appeared to be coming from some where else,if in doubt replace the seal not expensive and easy to do

  5. I wonder if this is the source of the leak on mine... It's not the oil pressure switch.
