All the bearing nonsense was done at the place. I saw the crank rotate freely, then had to take it all apart to put the rest of the stuff back in the case. I will try the wire thing, when I get home. Thanks.
Good! It is a good test to oil the bearings up, just put the crank alone back in the case and bolt it up. Should spin easily, and you can feel any binding spots.
The oil light should be on first thing in the morning but go out while you are still cranking before it starts.. It might stay off for a minute after you stop with cold oil, a good pump and new bearings.
Or pull the wire off the switch and bite on it , if your ear wax shoots out it’s got power and so therefore the switch is creamed
Lime bug sent me a shedeck (?) pump. And I think the oil switch is knackered. The light on the dash comes on if I wiggle the connecter. I thought it was the connector so I changed it, but still had the same problem, so ordered the white OEM switch for just under £18 from jk. The one I had in there was the cheap pattern switch. Thanks for the advice. Oh, and the guy that write Volksworld, bought the bloke down the pubs 1954 bar door off of him a few years ago…
So he rescued it ? Later on he realised that an oak door with a glass panel in it saying "SALOON BAR" was not much use as transportation. Later on the landlord came round and asked for it back as it was a bit draughty.
