Devon poptop.

  1. Today I have taken the poptop off ready to start fitting the new canvas. What a clat that has been but I am now ready to have a day sanding preping the whole kit ready for painting and refitting.

Has anyone done this before and have any tips or recommendations before I get back into it??

Ive been looking round for new vinly covering for the middle section for when Im finished and Ive seen some carbon fibre look vinyl.. Would that be wrong? should I stick to a white??

Any experiance from people who have done this before would be appreciated! ;D

Im aiming to spray it all while im at it. rooftop and pop top yellow same as van leaving a white band rather than a white top half if that makes sense then over winter finish off the whole spray job!!! ;)

  10. Hi, I've just re fitted mine (late Devon pop top) I stripped it right out - including the mushroom vents, sprayed it all after lots of prep in 2 pack white and it looks mint! the bellows I had done professionally in marine grade canvas upholostery (deep green) I'm yet to get the centre section done, but For a laugh I've put it back on the bus and nearly filled my pants straining so much to get those springs back in their tubes on the lifting mechanism!! Good luck, and be careful with the springs, especially taking them off!

  11. ratchet straps help with the springs
