devon poptop - bellow or straight canvas ???

I hit lucky when I got mine and someone has obviously done a complete roof refurb including the concertina bellows. The downside is there are no clear panels in the bellows which I've seen - did they have these originally?

 

I think they did have the clear panels originally.....my old one had them

I think pop top parts do with or without .....think its about £50 extra to have the clear panels in them

......I probably wont have them if I get new to try and keep it a little darker up there when the kids are sleeping ......not that it will be much darker !!!!

 

We've got the original consertina ones, there are no holes but the restorer got grey overspray on them - consequently they now look a bit of a mess but I'm not sure what would get the spraypaint off without damaging the plastic :-(

 

What you should have done is taken it straight back, quoted the price of a new bellows and given them the option of removing the overspray or replacing the bellows. The sooner it's tackled the easier it is to remove and the perpetrator should be given the task.

 

After a fairly naff resto I lost the will to live when dealing with the guy :-( I should have perused it but chalked it up to experience. the paint has now been on it for about 2 years so I think its terminal :-(
