Any tips on fitting the two part seal on a Devon roof? Had a quick look today but didn't have much luck! Is it worth using string like then fitting glass?
It's a nightmare! I spent a couple of days struggling with mine, I could get the 2 parts of the roof to join (after a struggle) but couldn't get the seal filler in. Eventually I bought a diamond lacing tool on fleabay and it went in ok. The tool forces the seal aprt whilst feeding in the rubber filler, about £17 from memory. Good luck
it IS a nightmare. I did mine 3 weeks ago. If there's ANYTHING I can say, it would be take the roof off the 4 struts, and take it to a local glass fitter to help. You need at least 2 people who are good with their hands, and reasonably strong to help support the roof as it moves about. They also have the lacing tools to fit the locking bead in place. Cheers - looks like i'll be getting a lacing tool then! It's already off the struts and in the garage but the centre part was moving around too much to keep the seal in place. I'll have another go at the weekend
