hey guys i have detailed fuch rims and the paint is Marmite and flaking off had them a good few year now there only reps but i wanna strip the paint off and have them as a polished rim .i want to do all of this myself so i was going to nitromors the paint off but its quite pitted the steel underneath the paint so can anyone suggest what sand paper grade type ect to use to get them nice and shiny smooth ? cheers
They would be an alloy not steel , depends how deep the pits are !! I would get one of those cloth mop things that go in a drill and go a quite abrasive compound then a new mop with a polish ...
work through the grades of wet and dry paper starting with 120 if the pittings deep and end up with 1200 then use a polishing compound Use a good rim wax once a week to keep on top of the shine
