Had a peek at my gearbox hockey stick today.... Sorry for the crappy pic seems deformed and there was no ball! Should I try hammering back out or is it better to get a replacement? The shift wasn't great would this explain it? Pretty sure it didn't drop out when I opened it up...
The ball is bust and because it's been bust for a long time, the hockey stick has been able to flap about and wear. Half the ball it still on the hockey stick in your pic. How well the new ball will fit in the carrier you'll have to wait and see when you get a ball. You need a new hockey stick as well as that one will wear the new ball and you'll be back where you started.
