Dashboard table for snotty !

  1. Who's got one?

I'm trying to figure out how they attatch. I see pics of two metal brackets, do these stay screwed permantlt to the dash and the table hooks on?
Pics of the table in situ suggest it attaches half way up the dash so I can't figure out where the would go?

Let me know if you need any measurements.

BTW i made a table for the rear of mine that attaches to the same brackets so it can go in the front or the rear - i used some over-centre clasps though to fit that as it's more secure than the westy brackets.

  7. Cooool !
What /where from are the brackets attatch to the dash? Any chance of a close up of those?
Iassumed these were the ones which go on dash but obviously they're for the table,

Doesn't your gin & tonic slide off when you go round corners? Surely one with small sides like on a boat would be better?

  11. Let us know what reaction you get from the Traffic Police when they pass you tucking in to a light snack as you make your way along the M4.

I put mine into first gear, then I connect the table , obviously you have to take the table off for reversing

  16. no. the pic you've posted is the copy of the original westy part that fits to the table. the "tongue" points down and slots in to the brackets on the dash. it works ok, but if you put any weight on the table behind the leg it'll flip up and spill your stuff - not a great design IMO.

for the new table i made i used some clips like this (i think it might be called a "toggle latch" actually now i come to think about it):

not exactly this clip, but something very similar - it clamps solid against the dash brackets and wont move - much better solution.

i did a quick search and i couldnt' find anyone selling the dash brackets, but they are pretty much identical to these ones that nlavw sell for fitting a cab bunk. my dash brackets are plastic but these should be stronger.

    hope that helps

  17. would work fine on an auto
