Dash light problems

  1. hi,

    On behalf of a friend:

    They have no generator light or oil pressure light on the dash. They have removed the spade conecter on both & earthed them out,,, yet still no warning light comes on.
    Any ideas folk???

    I'll give you a call tom. When have you git a few free hours??? The van is in Brixworth
     
  8. as snotty said, could be anything.

    Most likely causes are:-

    12V feed to the cluster is not live (black wire looping around instruments) either the wire has come off of the fuse box or the fuse has blown - is anything else not working?
    No earth to instruments (although it usually earths via the screws if this happens
    bulb holders not making contact correctly
    bulbs blown
    Wires to oil pressure switch and alternator making poor contact
    oil pressure switch and alternator broken (unlikely)
