Damn you leaky van!!!!

  1. Got in the van today to find what can only be described as a puddle at the bottom of the front panel. It's only been out once since the respray so I'm guessing I need to take the screen out and refit it but it doesn't look on the ******* but it can be the only place it's coming in. Is there a special technique to this or is it just good old trial and error. Also is there anywhere else it could be coming in?

  2. Do you mean at the base of the windscreen inside? Could be condensation.

mine was the same when i had new seals, they had to take the screen back out and get it bang on level - i'm guessing yours is the same

  4. Had the same fault with mine this week after having the screen out for painting the front.
Was going to take it out again but managed to seal it by just tapping the rubber in around the screen it's not stopped raining for two days and still no water in can.

    Use a rubber mallet

  5. Rude. Like that idea. Do you reckon it just not seated right then?!?

  6. Must be said though, I am we'll impressed with the drainage. After the rain had stopped it drained away very quickly considering its cold. And no it didn't go through the rust before anyone says it.

  7. If you look at the seal it has lots of strips of rubber by tapping it in it seems to seal it like a plug

    Hope this makes sense

  9. Also check indicator seals and wiper arm grommets.

These a two other common causes :(

  11. Cool. Gonna give that a blap tomorrow and see how I get on. I'll let you know how I get on

  12. Right. I gave it a good tap in today. And it stopped raining. Typical!!! Well I will just have to see how it gets on.

I must admit I got so p**d off with mine, I used pond liner glue on it because that sticks to the rubber but not quite so well to the paintwork, and it works when its still a bit wet, and it was what came out of the only tube that worked when I wanted some thing to fill the gap.

Mine was bad after a respray because they reused the seals and somebody before me had also used sealant which was not completely cleaned off and which succesfuilly held the rubber away from the paintwork and left nice gaps for water.

  14. I went to the windscreen place and got some of there black mastic and squeezed it around the rubbers
