I've got a turbo diesel daily driver which has 120,000 on the clock and when starting from cold plumes of smoke come out the exhaust for the first minute or so. What can i do to reduce this?
basically with a diesel white or grey exhaust when cold is usually poor glow plugs allowing overfuelling but if you're saying it starts ok it's not that, i'd try throwing some injector cleaner down it, does it black smoke under load? how long since you changed the fuel/air filters?
120,000 is nowt for a diesel. What service history does it have? Suggest you change the gloplugs and fuel filter
do you do lotta short trip? need ta get it warm then give it a blast , turboz are bit like that, thats if it aint ........... naked?
I've had it for 3 and a half years, full service every August all new filters and fluids. Had the MAF and glow plugs changed in September. Short trips could be a problem 12 mile round trip to work and back.
My service bloke put some in well a version off that. He also said not to often as its like a teapot, you shouldn't strip it clean leave some flavour .
