Right, prepare yourselves for a daft question..... How do I get the single screw headlamp rims off of my bus? I've removed the screw but they don't budge at all. It's got eye-lids on (I know...) if that makes any difference? Cheers Doug
Undo the screw, then push them sideways a bit. A ledge in the plastic hooks over a metal bit in the headlight bowl. As for the eyelids, take them off and throw them over the hedge.
Mmm tried that, the neighbours threw them back! Still can't get the bloody things off, they are stuck solid!
I got the rims off but managed to touch the 2 wires for the side light together when testing the new unit. Now the side lights work but not the head lights. If I put main beam on they work but only whilst I pull the stalk forward. As soon as I let go it reverts to dipped lights and they go out. The stalk also won't latch in main beam position.. Is there a relay or something that I've blown up? Brett, I put an Allen key through the hole and gave it a gentle pull. Worked fine.
Also, if it does sound like shorting the side-lights could have buggered the relay, where is it located so I can have a look?
Right, both fitted and all working as they should. Hardest bit was getting the bloomin headlamp rim off and that was because I was being a div. Cheers all
