CTEK fan?

  1. Can any one advise if a 10A CTEK battery charger has a cooling fan built in? Or are they 100% silent in operation?

Current charger is a Sterling Pro-Budget one, and has a tiny fan which annoys my better half in the small hours.

Also is the 10A worth the extra over a 7A or even 5A model - needs to top up a 88Ah leisure battery which powers a compressor fridge and phone charger etc

    thanks!

  2. I have the 7 which has no fan it easily keeps the battery topped up for a compressor fridge, phone charging and lighting. That's for a 110ah battery

Get a bigger charger and switch it off at night then the fan is not an issue.

Bigger so it can catch up in the morning.

  4. No fan, they're more efficient so don't generate as much heat, 7amp should be plenty, it may take a bit longer to charge your battery if it's completely flat than a 10amp.

    Indeed I do!
The 10 amp is a no brainer if you can afford it. 7 is adequate @olnow but the 10 is better in the long run for caring for both batteries which could be up to 200 ah on a combined charge.

Oh & there's no fan, it's silent but can get warm on a hard charge so allow it some ventilation.
