I had a cheap poormans version for bench charging, every time it switched off you had to go through all the settings to get it going again, are Cteks the same or would it come on automatically every time you hook up? also whats a good size, I was thinking am MX10
my ctek comes back on where I left it unlike my lidl specials which reset(although I'm messing about using a micro-controller to set it automatically)
Fitted a Numax connect+forget continual use battery charger about 5 years ago. It claimed to be able to keep a 135Ah capacity leisure battery topped up. So far no probs even after a recent visit to the alps with minus 9 and 12 . Gets my vote about £52 five years ago, probably cost about the same now. Doubt Aldi do them....
My ctek remembers last setting so yes it will do what you want. I just click it over to recondition every few trips. Otherwise it stays on normal
Im on me second one of these in me bay, the fan is noisy on it now on start up so dont know how much longer this second one will last, there was no mounting holes or brakets on it ether
ive been looking for a charger as well and must have googled Numax and Ctek until my fingers bled and im still not sure which one.....BTW whats a MX10 Cheers Bod
12 volt pancake fans are a replaceable item .. thanks to PCs and eBay or proper olde worlde computer shoppes. Not DSG boxshifter infestations.
It's the 10 amp version of the ctek. They do 5, 7 and 10 amp. This relates to the amount of current they can supply to your system withoit a battery. Eg if you run an electric fridge, you might just get away with a 7 amp but a 10 amp would be better.
As per last evenings chat about chargers @PIE here is my installation. The green lighted little gizmo allows a topup of the main battery when leisure is charged and "on float".
If you want something more powerful than a CTEK MXS10 but considerably cheaper - https://www.12voltplanet.co.uk/rovert-battery-chargers.html
