That looks rather snazzy! Is it meant to make it less prone to leaking oil than a standard Fischer Price one? The plate I mean not the temp sensor.

  4. If you've got the gaskets and acorn nuts on, the standard one's don't leak!

Mine have always passed a tiny bit on the odd stud. I guess it’s because I don’t go mad when I tighten them up as they are only soft. I snapped one off once but managed to get it out. I have an oil temp sensor sump plug attached. What’s the purpose of the alloy plate?

  6. You can use acorn studs with little rubber washers molded into a Groove on the nut. They don't leak.

    That's a cheap deal btw

Thought I was looking for a dipstick one??

  9. Just an idea but thinking about it your van would wipe that out on the first speed bump / campsite.

    As you were ...

  10. Surely its no lower than a normal sump plate?

  11. That looks like a good way of getting oil temperature measured.

Seems very good value to me.

  17. I'm sure he would have plated it in gold before fitting!

  18. If his current one hasn't been knocked off, then this one shouldn't either!

  19. It's the wire catching that could be an issue.
Keith's field reversing at speed was interesting - thought we'd be looking for a new exhaust !!
