crazy idea... would a tractor indicator stalk work?

my indicator switch inners have crapped out. I would like to replace them with a original vw old unit, but cant find a 7 wire 72 good one yet.... In the mean time what do you think about using this...........

Yep. Some of the buggy builders use similar.

 

At that price you can afford to hack it to fit..

 

Worth a go I recon. I recently sent a new indicator switch back to one of the big suppliers along with a wiper switch as the quality was unacceptable. So bad they were completely unfit for purpose. I ended up with second hand Porsche 924 parts

 

You may be surprised what a cable tie can do.. mine relies on split plastic being held together by the pressure from a cable tie.. its lasted years.

 

Wasn't there someone making new ones now, I remember a link somewhere on here, maybe someone has a better memory than me.
