  1. hi guys after checking and rechecking the crank l. IM not 100% happy its all fine. Iv desided that im going to replace the crack completely. Iv tryed to find out what bearings are on the old crank i can only find one bearing that has a part number this number comes up as a 65mm main bearing the bearing that bearing is the centre one that sound right? Now the thing i need to ask is how do i no what bearings i need for the rest. If someone can help me out with what n how i measure that would be great. This engine is killin my brain help me.

  2. Depends on what crank you buy, the new bearings have to match the new crank
    :)

  3. the crank iv got my eyes on comes with std 65mm main bearings and std 22mm thrust bearing? The crank has been ground .025. What i need to no is how do i measure my old one? If you get what i mean. Thanks

You need bearings to match both your crank and also the case.
If the bearings you have do not have markings other than a part number, it's most likely they are standard size and neither the case and crank have been machined. You need to measure to be sure though. Measure the crank with a vernier or micrometer - the journals get machined in 0.25mm stages so you need something reasonably accurate to measure them. The case saddles get machined 0.5mm at a time so a decent ruler across the saddle should make it obvious. The thrust gets machined in 1mm chunks, again very easy to measure with a ruler.
What I haven't covered of course is wear. To check the crank is straight, journals aren't ovalled, thrust isn't worn and saddles are still round needs someone with the gear to measure a lot more accurately. The wear on your existing bearings and the state of the journals is a good guide to arouse any suspiscions

  5. thanks zed Il get out and measure them then the bearing in the middle has a part number. I put that in good old google and it comes up with 65mm Il measure the others in a second. Thanks again
