Is there any way of knowing the best quality from these two? I know the price should tell me but I don't have them. Cheers.
Elring is a top quality german company, The black is probably a repro genuine one, the orange is probably a silicone based one. Different people p[refer different seals, But i have always used the orange ones with great sucess.
Elring are an OEM manufacturer. Also you can get the German made seals from VW dealerships. Mine was marked. W Germany and also marked BRUSS. it was £8.00 from VW. part number 113 105 245 j. They did need to order it in but it only took an afternoon.
