Nice one My fan housing has two holes in it where the split charge relay was fitted I didnt want to warp the metal by welding them up as it would have looked a mess after painting so i popped two rivits in the holes and painted over them the filled the centres with paint from a small humbrol model brush It worked a treat in my opinion
For the time being I ended up going for a couple of hex headed screws. I was going to put one in each hole, but the bottom holes are too close, so ended up filling them with a hex grub screw each. Not the best, but better than it was. Longer term I think I will keep an eye out for a sticker or similar. Have also created a backing plate to the stereo to make it fit better too
I thought of that, but I think they will look too big - would have to be fairly big to cover the holes. Might try though
What about the plastic trim bits that push into the end of a screw on flat pack furniture. Free if you have any lying about but you might have to paint them black. If you don't, let me know the diameter you would need to cover the holes and I'll see what I've got lying around.
alumininium rivets.... countersink the hole lightly. and ballpien rivits in dress off with some emery and paint.
