Covering door cards and panels

  1. My new plywood door cards and panels arrived today. I've had some covers made and I'm going to have a go at covering the panels myself. I know plenty of people have done this so is there any techniques or tips that will help me get a professional looking finish?

  2. In the back of the van I went for 3mm scrim glued to the ply and then vinyl stretched over that and glued behind. They look Ok, if not a little plain.

The front cards I got a bit more adventurous and sewed vertical lines 5cm apart for the middle bit.

One thing to watch out for, certainly on the sliding door card is not to pad it too much or it gets a bit dirty from the rear wheel arch.
